1930 Underhill is a proposed mixed use development located at Baron Road and Dillworth Drive in Kelowna, BC.  With a total of 266 proposed rental and condo units as well as commercial space at the ground floor. This development creates an opportunity to provide an innovative residential project that showcases modern and functional architectural design. Design and planning of this significant development is being undertaken as a collaborative effort for Lorval, in association with Richard Henry Architect and Planworks.

 

The proposed design anticipates utilizing a hybrid concrete and modular pre-fabricated construction.  Formulated around the efficiency of a modular system and companion structure. The form of the building at Underhill follows a simple massing logic; attention to the building materials, fenestration patterns and detailing. It will further provide an efficient and cost effective form supporting the feasibility requirements of this mixed-use, residential development.  Attention to material detailing the lower floors emphasizes a thoughtful approach to streetscape and the placemaking aspects of storefront retail space, outdoor patio dining, lush greenspaces and a thoughtful pedestrian realm.
